Refund Policy
No result, no charge. If we cannot provide a Department of Defense (DoD) active-duty status certificate for your case, we refund your full $22 — every time, back to your original payment method.
Effective date: May 30, 2026
Our simple promise: no result, no charge
When you order a search from OK Military Search, a licensed private investigator uses professional skip-trace tools to locate the missing Social Security Number (SSN) or Date of Birth (DOB) you need, then runs the official DoD (Defense Manpower Data Center, or DMDC) Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) check and emails you the resulting active-duty status certificate. See exactly how this works on our how it works page.
You pay a flat $22 per defendant. If the search does not produce a certificate we can deliver to you, you owe nothing — we issue a 100% refund. You take no financial risk in finding out whether a defendant is on active military duty.
$22
Flat fee per defendant. Fully refunded if no certificate can be provided.
What counts as "no result"
You are entitled to a full refund when the search cannot be completed and no DoD active-duty status certificate is delivered to you. In practice, "no result" means one of the following:
- We cannot locate the identifiers. Our licensed investigator is unable to find a sufficiently reliable SSN or DOB to run the official DoD/DMDC check for the person you named.
- The DoD system cannot return a certificate. Even after locating identifiers, the DMDC SCRA system does not return a usable active-duty status certificate for the queried individual.
- We cannot confidently identify the individual. The information available is not enough to identify the correct person, so a meaningful, deliverable certificate cannot be produced.
What does NOT count as "no result": A completed search that returns a valid certificate is a delivered result and is non-refundable on the basis of outcome — including a certificate that reports the person is not on active duty. The certificate itself is the deliverable. We charge for the professional locating and investigative work and the convenience of obtaining the record for you; we do not charge for, sell, or control what the official record says, and we do not guarantee any particular finding. Learn more about the underlying data on our SCRA information page.
How refunds are issued
- Back to your original payment method. Refunds are returned to the same card or payment method you used at checkout. We cannot send a refund to a different account, card, or person.
- For the full amount. Qualifying refunds are for the entire amount you paid. There are no partial deductions or processing fees taken out of an approved refund.
- Per defendant. Because the $22 fee is charged per defendant, your refund equals the total you paid for the defendant(s) we could not complete.
Processing time
Once a refund is approved, we initiate it promptly. The amount typically appears on your statement within a few business days, though the exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control. If you do not see the refund after a reasonable period, contact your bank first, then reach out to us and we will help track it down.
How to request a refund
In most cases, if a search cannot be completed we will let you know and process your refund without you having to ask. If you believe you are owed a refund and have not received one, requesting it is easy:
- Contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone or text at (918) 836-8683.
- Reference your order — include the name on the order, the email used at checkout, and the date of your request so we can locate it quickly.
- Tell us what happened so we can confirm whether a certificate was delivered and resolve your request fast.
Refund FAQ
What if the certificate shows the defendant is on active duty?
That is still a completed, delivered result and is not refundable on the basis of the outcome. The certificate documents the person's active-duty status on the queried date, which is exactly what a court typically requests for your Military Service Affidavit. We do not guarantee or influence the finding.
Do I pay extra for multiple defendants in one case?
Yes — the $22 fee applies to each defendant you list, so two defendants is $44 and three is $66. See pricing for details. Refunds, when they apply, are based on the amount you paid.
How long until I get my money back?
We initiate approved refunds promptly. The funds usually post within a few business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Can I get the record for free instead?
Yes. The DoD's active-duty status report is available directly from the government for free at scra.dmdc.osd.mil — but only if you already have the person's SSN or DOB. Our paid service exists for the common situation where you do not have those identifiers and need a licensed investigator to locate them. Learn more on how it works and our FAQ.
Ready to start?
There is no downside to ordering: if we cannot deliver a certificate, you get your full $22 back. Submit your request and let a licensed investigator do the legwork.
